last saturday the boys and i went south and hit up the Team Drifting Championship presented by Fatlace. buttonwillow has to be my favorite track not just because how awesome eastloop are but the guys over at buttonwillow have always welcome drifters in an open arms unlike other track places, they’ve banned drifting just because its different. being here brings back old memories when i used to organize events back in 2000-2005 and this place have pave a lot for drifters out there and some are in pro-drifting.

this event was also hellaflush 3.5, knowing that ive done events here in the past its really hard to get ‘carshow’ people and ‘drifters’ out here just because its out of nowhere but when i got there at 12PM (i know we were very fashionably late) the parking lot and pit was pack! this shows how far fatlace/hellaflush/drifting have come. if you can get the pit full of carshow guys that means you’ve made it…
i was also asked (IM STILL COOL!) to judge the competition along with justin pawlak, matt powers, colin frost and todd ho. although the driving was ok, some of these guys need to step their game up, drifting has been here for awhile but some of these still driving like its their first time.
i saw a lot of familiar faces at this event was was very surprising, some people that i haven’t seen in years! my homie lance feliciano came out and supported the event. he’s moving from LA to Norcal and stop by with his family. he’s trying to get away from all the BS in LA and focusing on drifting. the guy has tons of stuff in the works and trying to make a comeback into drifting. he’ll be competing this year at XDC so make sure to look out for that.
my homie herb (DRIFTWELL) was also out here supporting his boys from DESTROYER and the DORI SARU team. this dude was one of the first people to support drifting and AE86 scene before any of you fruitcakes know what car sliding was. he was also the first dude to start making t-shirts in drifting and was damn well the best one because he knew exactly how drifters wanted to dress and how we wanted it to look but its too bad he retired that shit. but RESPECT to this dude and im happy to call him, my friend.
if you’ve been into drifting or car lifestyle then you should know who these two are. on the left that’s mark arcenal founder of fatlace and have been around drifting before you knew what drifting was. the dude on the right is linhbergh the extraordanaire photographer for speedhunters and he also does this whole 365 days fotos called artpants, sounds stupid. ok im jealous, these dudes are good and shits on my 365. (no, linhbergh is not that short, mark is actually standing on a trailer)
phil 360vm was also there filming calvin wan and he brought his kid, haru.
as you can see, there’s no car fotos because you can simply get that elsewhere. go check out motormavens or speedhunters. check out more familiar faces below, some familiar heads that i haven’t seen for awhile.
